The citizens of Clarksville and Montgomery County have entrusted the Museum with the collection, preservation, interpretation and presentation of this area’s history, arts and culture. From its inception, the Museum has been committed to serving this diverse community. The Museum participates in multiple reciprocal membership programs, is a Museums for All and Blue Star Museum military family participant, and is a member of the Tennessee Association of Museums and the Southeastern Museums Conference. The Museum offers free group tours to all Clarksville-Montgomery County public school students.

There’s also a Forza Motorsport racing experience and an interactive storytelling exhibit for children, featuring characters from the Disney/Pixar movie Cars. This museum tells the story of Japanese immigration to the U.S., from early restrictions on property ownership to the brutal internment camps during World War II. Built around 1700, this 3,000-square-foot residence was the center of village life in Marugame, Japan. The Stevenson House is an 1840s adobe where famous author Robert Louis Stevenson resided in late 1879. Today the house is filled with artifacts from the author's life as well as local artwork. While the ocean can be spotted from the Getty Center on a clear day, the Getty Villa, perched above the Pacific Coast Highway at the edge of Malibu, has prime Pacific Ocean views.
